Last two blogs were huge. Here is the easy reader version for those who want to help with my various projects

Colors in DuPont Oct 18

I realize that there is a head spinning amount of information in my last two blogs. With our future gardens certainly to be reduced in size, delegating continuation and completion of projects will be very important. That means getting seeds out to those of you who are interested in helping. And, that means helping you decide which seeds. That is the meaning behind this blog.

Captain project - This is the project that stems from my cross between Sun Gold hybrid and Captain Lucky. The project is fully described, and progress shown, in this blog entry. Please note that this is still early generation results - so you may or may not get the results that I do. I suggest planting more than one plant to observe a larger array of possibilities.

Summarizing from that blog, I think that the most interesting leads going forward are (another note - the codes below are what you should request - they are my 2026 seed number designations).

Orange Leads - T26-40, T26-46 (larger, Uluru Ochre sort of orange color), T26-53 (dead ringer for Sun Gold, maybe a bit smaller), and T26-57 (lovely larger orange cherry, nice color effects).

Yellow Leads - T26-56, T26-58 (larger, more oblate)

Red Leads - T26-41, T26-42 (more of an oval shape), T26-48 (larger, oval), T26-60 (larger, more round/oblate)

Pink leads - T26-59 - quite large, some nearly medium beefsteak - some oblate, trace of bicolor characteristics, outstanding potential.

Chocolate leads - T26-43, T26-53.

Green leads - T26-45 - on the larger side, color like Captain Lucky itself

The most unique are T26-46 and T26-45. Seed quantity of any of the above are limited - I will send what I can upon request.

Caitlin’s creativity!

Here are the smaller projects, some of which are of a high priority and very promising. All of these are described in great detail in this blog entry.

Dwarf Liz’s Teardrop - I finally got some seeds to save. I’d love for folks to request one or the other - T26-49 or T26-50 - with the goal being getting tomatoes with seeds to save!

Pale Perfect Purple - this is not so much a project but just an offer for those who want to add the real thing to their collection. Both T26-69 and T26-70 gave the correct result.

Craig’s Folly - this is my indeterminate, variegated leaf, regular leaf bicolor selection from Triply F2. It could still be highly variable. T26-68

Unnamed Purple - this is a wonderful indeterminate, variegated leaf, potato leaf purple from Triply F2. T26-25. I would love it to be compared with Polish Bling, from a different parent cross.

Triply F2 green flesh selections, dwarf, variegated, green flesh - unnamed. T26-72 is potato leaf, T26-74 is regular leaf.

There are many other tomatoes listed in my blog, but the above are the highest priority. As always, feel free to ask for whatever looks interesting to you. Seed is limited on all, but I will do what I can to fulfill requests.

Seed requests should go to nctomatoman@gmail.com - I hope to get them fulfilled well before next growing season.
